The 29th annual Bahamas Bridal Show was held in April at Melia Nassau Beach Resort where Crystal Thurston and Nehemiah Poitier, who are to be wed this November, took home the grand prizes. Held under the theme "A New Day" and attended by almost 1,000 persons, the bridal show featured more than $30,000 in prizes from 47 exhibitors; wedding games and demonstrations; food, cake and champagne sampling, and a fabulous fashion show by Buttons Bridal & Formal Wear, the event's organizers. They won a Long Island, Bahamas, weekend accommodations provided by Beyond the Décor, including rental car, meals and airfare. Couple's massage by REMAX and dinner for 2 at Comfort Suites, Paradise Island, went to runner-up Sasha Joyce & Derick Bastian.
