Nassau Bahamas - RBC is on an ongoing journey of transformation and innovation in the Caribbean, and around the world. As part of this journey, banking solutions for clients will continue to evolve and improve.

Having recently launched an industry-leading mobile App, nearly 25,000 active users in The Bahamas are currently enjoying the benefits and convenience of 24/7 access to conduct their banking anywhere and anytime on their mobile device.

“These efforts are designed to bring us closer to our clients by giving them the ability to bank with us more easily through an array of physical and digital channel options, including point of sale, a strong mobile mortgage and sales force, the RBC Mobile App, Digital Banking, ATMs and our stores” said Nathaniel Beneby, Managing Director, RBC Northern Caribbean.

Today, RBC Royal Bank announced the following changes to its store (formerly known as branch) locations, which includes the consolidation of its:

  •     Robinson Road with Carmichael Road store, effective March 16, 2018
  •     John F. Kennedy Drive with Carmichael Road store, effective March 23, 2018
  •     Andros Town with RBC Main Bay Street store, effective March 30 2018
  •     Long Island Gray’s store with RBC Main Bay Street store, effective April 13, 2018
As RBC invests and grows our mobile sales forces and electronic channels, our network will continually evolve and change as we seek to serve our clients where and how they wish to conduct their banking. In some circumstances, this may involve combining stores, relocating certain stores or opening new ones. These decisions are made after careful consideration of how we can best serve our clients in the market.

As consumer banking habits evolve, we are offering clients a blend of online and mobile channels, stores, ATMs and mobile specialists.  Our Mobile Mortgage, Sales Specialists and Business Bankers will meet clients where it is most convenient for them.

We recognize that changes may be challenging for some of our clients, and we apologize for any inconvenience they may cause. We are committed to having regular and ongoing conversations with our clients to find solutions that will work for them.

We have a long and rich history in this region, and we look forward to continuing our contributions to community initiatives and organizations through donations, sponsorships and employee volunteerism.

Mr. Beneby indicated that employees whose positions are directly affected by these changes have been notified. “We are providing strong support to assist affected employees through this transition. As a responsible employer and community leader, we value the contributions of our employees and are committed to treating our employees with respect, dignity and compassion. We will work with all impacted employees to find ways in which we can support their careers going forward, whether within RBC or elsewhere,” he said.

“Like all businesses, we constantly evaluate our operations to ensure we continue to match our services with the needs of our customers and we are fully committed to ensuring smooth, uninterrupted service to our customers, continuing to meet our clients’ expectations and provide more convenient and better service to our clients while creating greater efficiencies within our operations,” concluded Mr. Beneby.

With more than 100 years of dedicated service in The Bahamas, RBC is a purpose-driven, principles-led and performance-focused organization that remains committed to the Caribbean and to building a strong, sustainable business for the future while helping clients thrive and communities prosper.
