Nassau, Bahamas - The Sir Victor (Bahamas) Heart Ball Committee jumpstarted their fund raising activities for the season with the 4th Annual Heart Ball Committee Tea Party & Fashion Show. The festivities were held on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 2:30 at Government House.  This fun-filled afternoon of elegance consisted of a fashion show, a hat parade and a table decorating contest. Teas were provided by the Mikerlene Munroe of Island Rose and Mrs. Beth Stuart of Beth’s Kitchen.

Most importantly, the guests were mesmerized by fashions from Anita’s Place, The Seventeen Shop, and Envy Me Fashions. Stylish and chic hats were modeled from Judy’s Hat Shop. Jewelry was modeled from Master Jewelers, and Nadia Campbell Jewelery.

The Tea Party & Fashion Show was topped with a coveted raffle with prizes from around the world and The Bahamas. Local gifts came from such places as Cole’s of Nassau, Nicole’s Hair & Beauty Supply, The Original Fruit Bouquet, and many, many more sponsors.

The Sir Victor Sassoon (Bahamas) Heart Foundation is a non-profit organization that assists mainly children with the treatment of heart repair. In conjunction with The Bahamas Heart Association, The Foundation educates and informs Bahamians about heart care. The Foundation runs primarily on a voluntary and contributory basis.

The Heart Ball Committee thanks all who made The Tea Party & Fashion Show a great success. The public is reminded that your financial assistance helps to make the life of a child better. As you enjoy your holiday, please remember to donate to The Foundation and to also consider attending the upcoming Heart Ball.

Finally, the Heart Ball Committee wishes to invite the public to submit nominations for the 2009 Lady Sassoon Golden Heart Award. The Award will be presented at the 46th Annual Heart Ball, February 13, 2010 at Sheraton Nassau. This award applauds and gives recognition to individuals who have selflessly given of themselves to promote human welfare and dignity, thus making life better for their fellow men. If you know someone who qualifies, please submit a written nomination explaining why they should be given the award.
