Nassau, The Bahamas - The Bahamas China Friendship Association (BCFA) and the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers' Confederation (BCCEC) partnered to facilitate the China Trade Mission 2019 Information Session, at the Cancer Society of The Bahamas, on August 8, 2019.

The event was an opportunity for entrepreneurs, business owners and individuals to learn more about the joint trade mission to China, especially in terms of finding reputable suppliers, seeking innovative ideas and cultural exchanges.

BCFA President Gershan Major brought welcome remarks, and offered those in attendance an opportunity to introduce themselves, and voice their individual interests in visiting China; and BCFA VP Donovan Moxey spoke on reasons to be a part of the Mission.

BCCEC CEO Jeff Beckles brought remarks and encouraged Bahamian business owners to look at the possibilities of gleaning from Missions the tools grow their companies.  Among the points in his remarks, Mr. Beckles mentioned the various benefits of joining the BCCEC, and raised with the business owners present the possible aim of exporting their products or services to a larger international market.

President Major also spoke on the advantages of joining the BCFA, especially in terms of future business, economic and cultural interactions with China

Mike Cunningham of Bahamas Welding and Fire gave his first-hand insights on doing business in China, and BCFA Secretary Sherrell Storr presented travel details and moderated the questions from those in the audience.

After a vote, it was decided that, from the two possible choices, the Mission would be to the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair 2019), with a cultural experience visit to Beijing, October 27 - November 3, 2019.
