Foxwoods Resort Casino joins forces with Harcourt Developments

Courant.com - The owner of Foxwoods Resort Casino is joining forces with an Irish property development company to redevelop a resort on Grand Bahama Island.

Foxwoods Development Co. announced Thursday that it reached an agreement with Harcourt Developments to become part of the renovation and reopening of the Royal Oasis Resort. The resort has been shuttered since 2004 because of severe damage from hurricanes Frances and Jeanne.

The development company, which the Mashantucket Pequot tribe owns, along with Foxwoods in southeastern Connecticut, will provide consultation on the project and manage the casino, hotel and convention space at the Royal Oasis, said Arthur Henick, a tribal spokesman.
