Freeport Grand Bahama Island - Dey Reach! Naturally 7 have arrived on Grand Bahama Island on a red carpet with great fanfare. The Grand Bahama Performing Arts Society, La Femme Events together with The Ministry of Tourism were on hand to give Naturally 7 a warm welcome that they say has already spoiled them.
La Femme Events prepared truly Bahamian eats and drinks and coordinated attractive ladies draped in colorful Junkanoo costumes. Miss Grand Bahama 2009, Niki Severe was also on hand to welcome Naturally 7. Also present were major sponsors of the event, Bill and Ruth Ann Harnisch of The Harnisch Family Philanthropies, Karen Clarke of Thayer's Natural Remedies.
After departing the airport, Naturally 7 stopped into COOL96 for a warm welcome and to do a brief on-air cameo sample of Vocal-Play and to invite everyone to attend their Saturday May 1st concert at Bishop Michael Eldon School at 7PM.
Naturally 7 will also be having a free meet greet autograph signing event at Shenanigans Irish Pub at Port Lucaya tonight at 8:30PM. Tickets will also be available for purchase.
Special thanks goes out to Aryana Roberts and Susan Clegg for all their assistance with The Bahamas Weekly's coverage of Naturally 7’s arrival on Grand Bahama Island.
Naturally 7 is an
American male music group
a Capella style
(voice only - no instruments) they call "Vocal Play" (
each of them used their voices in
unison to recreate a different musical instrument from drums to brass
instruments to guitars)
. They sing primarily R & B
with extensive beat boxing (vocal percussion)
. Naturally 7 band members are Roger
Thomas (musical director, arranger, 1st Baritone,
Rap), Warren Thomas (percussion, guitar, clarinet, 3rd tenor) Rod
Eldridge (1st tenor, scratching, trumpet), Jamal Reed (4th Tenor,
electric guitar), Dwight Stewart (2nd baritone), Garfield Buckley (2nd
Tenor, Harnica) and “Hops” Hutton (Bass).
"The Performing Arts
Society is absolutely thrilled to be able to
bring such a unique, exciting and talented group of performers to Grand
Bahama," said Dalia Feldman, Founder of the Society.
"The Naturally 7 concert and workshop have
been in the works for
over a year, after a video of a live performance of theirs was emailed
to me by a committee member. At that time, N7 was a huge hit in Europe,
but had just started to gain recognition in North America. Now, after a
tour of the US and Canada, and performances in Vancouver at the Winter
Olympics, they are in the midst a world tour with Michael Buble. What a
thrill it will be to have them here on Grand Bahama!
"
Naturally 7 has performed in Europe, the
U.K., Canada, Australia and the U.S.
TV performances on such shows as the Today Show, and the Tonight Show
in America, and the Royal Variety Television show in London in front of
His Royal Highness Prince Charles.
The
band has now recorded four albums – ‘Wall Of Sound’, “Non Fiction” ,
“What Is It” , “Christmas …It’s A Love Story”,
“Ready II Fly”, and in March 2010 they will release their new CD
entitled 'Vocal Play'.
What
makes Naturally 7 special, is that every instrument sound that they
sing is created from the human voice. There are no actual drums,
guitars, horns, flutes, or any other instrument that is heard when
listening to them perform; it’s the band members playing each of their
vocal instruments.
With
their rich harmonies, an unbelievable ability to replicate instruments
and a stage presence that can be felt in every seat of the house,
Naturally 7, the first 'vocal play' group ever, are amazing, charming
fans where ever they perform.
Mark
your calendars now as you don't want to miss this wonderful
entertainment experience suitable for all ages. Venue and ticket
outlets, as well as full details on how to be a part of the mentor
workshop will be announced shortly.
