The world’s largest cruise line is working closely with the Bahamian training facility to prepare hundreds of Bahamians for ship and on shore positions with the award-winning cruise line.

Royal Caribbean International has donated 20 laptops to the National Training Agency (NTA), helping to boost tools as the world’s largest cruise line continues its campaign to hire and train hundreds of Bahamians for ship and on shore positions.

Executive Director of the training agency that is helping to prepare hundreds of prospective Royal Caribbean International staff and crew among other job seekers Gadville McDonald expressed appreciation.

“The Agency now stands equipped with the tools necessary to launch its computer lab. These laptop computers have enhanced our capability to offer interactive learning options to remote locations in the Family Islands in addition to onsite training,” said McDonald. “We thank Royal Caribbean for its very generous donation. These laptops will greatly assist the agency as we improve our delivery system by incorporating improved technology and providing an onsite space for our trainees to be engaged in research and enhanced training.”

Royal Caribbean International, which has been voted “Best Cruise Line Overall” for 15 consecutive years by Travel Weekly Readers’ Choice Awards, brought 1.6 million guests to The Bahamas last year. In October, it began hosting a series of job fairs in Nassau and Grand Bahama in a quest to fill existing jobs and hundreds of new positions that will become available as it opens its new chill and thrill water park Perfect Day at Coco Cay next month.

The cruise line believes Perfect Day, a $250 million investment in the Berry Islands, will set a new standard for excitement with the largest fresh water wave pool in the Caribbean and the tallest water slide in North America among an array of dining, dancing, aquatic and beach experiences for guests of every age.

Perfect Day at Coco Cay is scheduled to officially open May 4.
