Royal Caribbean International’s two-day job fair being held at the Department of Labour in the Churchill Building in Freeport is expected to attract hundreds of applicants as the award-winning global cruise brand looks to fill a wide variety of positions at Perfect Day on Coco Cay® and on board their ships.

“We have taken our recruitment drive on tour around the islands of The Bahamas to find the best and brightest talent interested in joining our team,” said Royal Caribbean International’s Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, Cynthia Williams-Johnson who was in Grand Bahama for the event. “The interest we’ve seen expressed from this first pool of applicants in Grand Bahama is reassuring and we are so excited to provide these job opportunities.”

Individuals will be processed for an array of positions on board the ships on Thursday from 2pm-7pm and 10am – 4pm Friday. Top-tier talent was also sought for Royal Caribbean’s mile-long private island in the Berry Islands, Perfect Day at Coco Cay® on Thursday from 10am – 7pm and 10 am – 3pm on Friday.

“In addition to the traditionally thought of areas of food and beverage, hotel operations, culinary and entertainment departments,  a segment of the operation with a critical recruitment need is the waterpark department where we are seeking able-bodied persons equipped to fill roles of lifeguards, senior lifeguards and lead lifeguards,” said Williams-Johnson.

Royal Caribbean has said hiring Bahamians is among its top priorities and hopes that the process will lead to long-term personal financial benefits to those employed and the economy of Grand Bahama as a whole.

The fairs in Grand Bahama follow a series of job fairs held in New Providence at the National Training Agency in New Providence, the next of which is scheduled for Thursday, February 28. The cruise line said it plans to host another round of job fairs in Abaco in the near future.
