The new Permanent Representative of Argentina to the Organization of American States (OAS), Daniel Raimondi, today presented his credentials to the Secretary General, Luis Almagro, during a ceremony that took place at the headquarters of the hemispheric institution.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Raimondi pointed out that his country "has always valued its membership in this forum and the role it plays in the Hemisphere." He highlighted his country's commitment to the OAS work on issues such as the fight against corruption and terrorism and the defense of human rights.

For his part, Secretary General Almagro highlighted the vast professional experience of the Argentine diplomat and recalled the issues and challenges that the Organization's agenda focuses on these days. “Ambassador Raimondi, welcome to the House of the Americas. We will work with you as we have done all these years with the professionalism and commitment that the inter-American system needs,” he said.

Argentina is one of the 21 founding countries of the OAS.
