Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - In
1969, before The Bahamas gained its independence, Club 1600 was
chartered as the first Toastmasters Club in New Providence. Three years
later, in 1972, Club 1425 was chartered in Grand Bahama.

	Both
clubs endure to this day as the oldest Toastmasters Clubs in The
Bahamas, and on August 1, 2012, Toastmasters Club 1425: Eagles will be
celebrating 40 years of developing leaders with confidence and effective
 communication skills.

	Being
that the Toastmasters year begins on the 1st of July; the newly elected
board members of the various clubs, in the newly realigned Area 93 -
which includes Grand Bahama & Abaco - participated in a Toastmasters
Leadership Institute seminar held this past Saturday under the
direction of the 2012-2013 Area Governor, Toastmaster Julieth McCafferty
 of Abaco.

	Executive
members of Club 1425 were in attendance to absorb the information, and
are now prepared to keep the Eagles soaring into the future!

Toastmasters Club 1425: Eagles meets every Thursday, 7 PM at Geneva’s Place, Mall Drive.
