An all-Bahamian filmmaking organization is seeking HIGHLY ENTERTAINING, ORIGINAL AND WELL WRITTEN FEATURE LENGTH SCREENPLAYS!!! If you are a professional writer looking to see your work on the big screen,
THIS COULD BE YOUR CHANCE!!!

(For Internationally Distributed Bahamian Films)

Script may be written by a single writer or a collaboration of writers

Material must be original, creative and should reflect an entertaining story line with an authentically Bahamian theme.

Dialogue/Language used may be Standard English

  • Script Submission Deadline: March 31st, 2008
  • Screenplays should be formatted according to current industry standards. We recommend that you download the writing software from www.celtx.com and that you consult any popular screenwriting text for assistance in following standard guidelines for format. We also recommend that you visit  http://script-o-rama.com/table .shtml  and http://www.screenwritinggoldmin e.com/screenplay-script.htm for more information on screenwriting.
  • Font should be Courier size 12
  • Scripts must be narrative feature length (approximately 70-120 pages)
  • Pages must be numbered in the top right hand corner
  • Script should have scene description (including whether scene is interior or exterior, time of day, and location)
  • Pages should be two or three hole punched, bound between cardstock covers and fastened by two or three metal brads.
  • Pages should not be double-sided
  • A one paragraph synopsis/summary should accompany script.
  • Screenplay should be printed on plain white paper. Should not include photos or graphics, and should not be double bonded.
  • Paper should be letter-sized (8.5 x 11)
  • The TITLE of the screenplay should appear on the front stock cover (legibly written or typed) along with the name of the AUTHOR (s), AUTHOR'S ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER & EMAIL ADDRESS. A TWO OR THREE SENTENCE SYNOPSIS SHOULD BE INCLUDED BUT KEPT SEPARATE FROM THE SCRIPT. The writer's name must not appear elsewhere in the script to preserve anonymity in judging process.
  • NO REVISIONS OR MISSING PAGES WILL BE ACCEPTED ONCE ENTRY HAS BEEN ACCEPTED.

 Returns and Acknowledgments

  • Writers whose scripts were not chosen may pick their scripts up from the Organization's office by April 22nd, 2008.
  • Please include a self addressed, stamped postcard for each submission if you wish acknowledgement of the receipt of your screenplay.

E-mailed scripts can be in Word or PDF Form. Submit scripts to: bahamianscreenplays@gmail.com .  Printed copies may be delivered to THE COUNSELLORS LTD, 1st Terrace, Centerville.
