Hypocrites

This word Hypocrites in the Greek is: hupokrites, hoop-ok-ree-tace'; which depicts (1) a person / an actor under an assumed character (stage-player), (2.) a dissembler, (3) a hypocrite.

The word hypocrites are mentioned seventeen times (17) in seventeen (17) verses in the New Testament, by our Lord and Savior Yahshua Messiah (a.k.a. Jesus the Christ).

Likewise the word hypocrite is mentioned three (3) times in three (3) verses in the New Testament, also by Yahshua Messiah.

Now, I know that this word, hypocrite is not one that’s talked about in the church circle; for as long as we’re talking about The Blessing, The Glory, The Anointing, Money, The Kingdom, & have various religious conferences” everybody is emotionally happy for a few moments; despite the fact that they’re living defeated, unfulfilled Christian lives.

I’ve had one of the saddest church / conference experience that I believe, I will ever have. This was where the atmosphere was extremely, emotionally charged as the Superstar (Word Network, T.B.N.) author of many books, Religious Leader was motivating the crowd to “Fake it, until they make it”  Needless to say, the crowd loved it; as they rushed in putting money on the platform at the speaker’s feet.

Contrary to popular beliefs, there’s a HUGE difference between that of a Holy Spirit led man / woman of God, and that of a motivational speaker; who could also be saved / a Christian.   Don’t hate because of what you’ve just read; as there’s absolutely nothing wrong with one being a motivational speaker.

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the church”

Yahshua, had no problem in dining / fellowshipping with the sinners (The tax collector, the harlot, the wine bibbers, etc;) He went even further in making wine.   But when it came to the Religious leaders / religious mind-set, He wasted no time in calling them out “You Hypocrites”

Matt.15: 7.   Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,

: 8.   This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Matt.23: 13.   But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

: 14.   Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

: 15.   Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

Remember, one of the traits of a hypocrite is that of (a stage player, a pretender), one who is pretending to be that which he’s not. This trait was prevalent in the synagogue / church during the Messiah’s days on earth, and likewise it is also prevalent in the church today.

The difference between then and now is as such; Yahshua called out the hypocritical religious leaders of His day; whereas today the hypocritical religious leaders are honored, esteemed and are covered by those who claim to know and love the truth.

Watch this!

Matt.6: 2.   Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

: 5.  And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Even those of us who keep and acknowledge the Sabbath have the propensity of being hypocritical.

Watch this!

Lk.13: 14.   And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

: 15.   The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

: 16.   And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

: 17.   And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

Church, we’ve got to get it together; let’s stop being hypocrites & take the mask off !.
