The Houses
By Pastor Allen

Which
houses are impacting our communities; (1) The Number Houses / Web Shops, (2)
The Illegal Drug Houses, (3) The Night Clubs / Bars or (4) The Church Houses?
The
web shops, drug houses, night clubs and bars are open to their communities /
public seven days a week; twelve (12) – eighteen (18) hours a day catering to
the public at large. Unlike the churches that are open at most three (3) days
per week for a few hours.
What’s wrong
with this picture?
Whenever
concerns are expressed about the church and its ineffectiveness in the
community; those of a religious mind-set immediately take a defensive position.
Nonetheless, we can’t continue sticking
our heads in the sand and not honestly address the church’s impact in the community.
The
church ought to serve its community as an Oasis in the desert whereby every
family / household in that community is being positively impacted by the
church, one way or another.
But, as it
is today; some Religious Leaders don’t know the name of the home owner /
resident a door or two away from the church.
In
every community throughout the length and breadth of the Bahamas we’ve got at
least three to four churches, yet the community is hard pressed and ran down with
various crimes (murders, drug abuse, gambling, gang activities, etc;).
What’s
the purpose of the church in a community?
Is it not positively impact the community for the Kingdom of God via uncompromisingly
teaching the word of God and ministering to the whole man both spirit, soul and
body?
The
church leaders today seem to have their own agendas which obviously are not
that of unity for the betterment of their communities. The facts / truth is
that the Religious Bishops, Apostles, Doctors, Pastors, etc; are busy competing
against each other to see which one can have the largest congregation, drive
the best vehicles, live in the gated communities, writing books, hosting money
making religious conferences
‘in Jesus’ name’ whiles the enemy
wreaks havoc in the church’s community.
Rather
than being a house of true worship and prayer; in many ways today’s church has
become a place of merchandising where the Religious leader’s products and other
items are being sold.
Here’s
an account of Yahshua Messiah (a.k.a. Jesus the Christ) encounter with the merchandising
church.
Matt.21:
12.
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and
cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables
of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
:
13.
And said unto them, It is written,
My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of
thieves.
God’s
empowering presence will return to the local churches as soon as the leaders truly
humble themselves, put their agenda aside and hearken diligently unto the voice
of the LORD, to observe and to do all His commandments.
The
murders and other social ills that are taking place our communities and at times
a stone’s throw away from a church building; speaks volumes of the church’s
impact in that community. We’re at a time where churches are no longer having
Sunday Night Services due to fear of becoming victims of crime.
Pastors
/ Shepherds can’t truly relate to the pain of the people within the communities
where their church buildings are located; as they reside outside these
communities in their exclusive, gated communities.
This
can be liken shepherds living high on the hill top, and their sheepfold living
down low in the valley. Whenever a mid-night moment / crisis or a wolf attacks
the sheep or some other emergency the shepherds are not in place, can’t be
found.
It’s
time for us to stop playing games and call the spade, a spade. The church has
been mandated by its founder Yahshua Messiah to impact the world
Mk.16:
15.
And he said unto them
, Go
ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
The
young man selling drugs in the community is some mother’s son, someone’s
brother, nephew, cousin, neighbor, etc; so is the young man stealing / selling
stolen goods and possesses an unlicensed fire arm.
These young men are no strangers they live in
the very same communities where three to four churches exist.
Religious
leaders, what’s the purpose of church you pastor in the community?
Are you going to make an impact for the
kingdom of God in your community or will you continue doing powerless religious
rituals?
Your community / country is
crying out for a kingdom move; they’re waiting for you.
