Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas - Management and staff at Pelican Bay at Lucaya recently celebrated the hotel’s fifth anniversary under Sundt AS ownership.

The team marked the occasion with a cake and drinks in the hotel’s lobby.  The hotel will also soon open the Canal House, an $8-million conference, meeting and events facility along with a breakfast room.  Perfect for groups of 14 to 158 persons, the five-storey building boasts a total of 30,680 sq ft with total meeting space, including balconies of 15,600 sq ft.

Themed “Meet Happy,” quirky décor and unusual experiences are the order of the day for events at The Canal House.  Sundt AS is a private investment company based in Norway.  Pelican Bay is the only investment that Sundt has in The Bahamas.  Sundt is also the majority shareholder of Pandox, which is a specialized European company that currently owns 48 hotels in Europe and Montreal, Canada (15,000 rooms).

Pandox hotels operate under well known brands such as Scandic, Hilton, Radisson SAS, Crowne Plaza, Choice, Hyatt, Intercontinental or independently managed. Front office manager, Della Bridgewater, front row second from left, Sybilene Cooper, executive housekeeper and Melissa Carroll, revenue and reservations manager, are seen fourth and fifth from right in back row.
