Pelican Bay Hotel “Gets Happy” with Grand Bahamian Olympic Gold Medalist, Michael Mathieu

Freeport, Bahamas - Grand Bahama born Olympian, Michael Mathieu enjoyed his stay at Pelican Bay Hotel on a recent visit home.  While on island the Olympian visited several schools.

“We are proud to help Michael Mathieu as he was back in Grand Bahama helping our youngsters with training and motivation.  It is nice to see a young man who has obtained world fame giving back to his community.  Those are the sort of efforts that Pelican Bay like to support,” said Magnus Alnebeck, General Manager, Pelican Bay Hotel.

Pelican Bay at Lucaya is owned by Sundt AS, a private investment company based in Norway.   Sundt AS is the majority share holder of Pandox, which is a specialized European hotel owning company, that at the moment owns 105 hotels in Europe & Canada (22,000 rooms). Pelican Bay is the only investment that Sundt AS has in the Bahamas.   Pandox' hotels operate under well-known brands such as Scandic, Hilton, Hyatt, Intercontinental, Radisson Blu, Quality, Holiday Inn, Clarion, Crowne Plaza, Choice or are independently managed.    Hotel properties are in strategic locations such as Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Berlin and the United Kingdom.
