Freeport, Bahamas - With candlelit tables in a warm and intimate setting in a Canal House meeting room, the poetry and spoken word event, Snapz got off to a great start on November 10th. Attendees 'snapped' their fingers to show appreciation as poet's read at the mic.
Lisa Turnquest of Poet's Inc said this after the evening, "We are really excited about our new poetry venue - Snapz at Pelican Bay.
We have tested this art form at a number of venues here in Freeport, but
never really achieved the right fit...until now. The venue is very
cozy, secluded and sexy which is the perfect atmosphere to showcase
spoken word. Even though the Poet's Inc. is the featured act we are only
there to fill the gaps between the hidden artists who we hope will
emerge and step to the mic in this new and exciting venue! So we are
inviting all "soldiers of the ink" to let their ink flow and share
it with people who can and will appreciate it!"
Snapz continues monthly on
December 1st, 2011, January 12th 2012 and
February 16th, 2012.
The event features the work of Poet’s Inc. The Poet’s Inc is comprised of a group of
poets and spoken-verse artists,
namely Lisa Turnquest, Caline Newton, Philcher Grant-Farquharson, and
Tamara Delaney. This event invites all persons to come out and share
their inspirational pieces as well as to listen to works prepared by the
Poet’s Inc.
Admission is free and food and beverages will be on sale, or enjoy dinner at Sabor Restaurant before the event!
