meeting room, the poetry and spoken word event, Snapz got off to a
great start on November 10th. Attendees 'snapped' their fingers to show
appreciation as poet's read at the mic.

Bridgewater as Operations Manager and Yvette Evans as Security
Manager. Also announced was the appointment of Chic Weddings Bahamas,
under the direction of Marva Munroe, to plan and design weddings at the

Formerly a part of the Sales team, Marva Munroe has moved
to another role and, under the banner of her company, Chic Weddings

Camp Up with People this summer.
15 year old Megan Turnquest, head girl from Sunland Baptist Academy; 16
year old Malike Moore of Bishop Michael Eldon High; 14 year old Morgan
Allison of Lucaya International School; and 13 year old Luke Muthra of
Sunland Baptist Academy have all been awarded scholarships and flights
up to a 3-week camp which takes place in the beautiful
Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, approximately two hours from Washington
D.C...

their ongoing efforts in Film Development, the Ministry of Tourism &
Aviation, in conjunction with the Ft. Lauderdale International Film
Festival (FLIFF), and the Grand Bahama Island Tourism Board, is pleased

‘FLIFF On-Location: Grand Bahama Island’
.
FLIFF, now in its 26th year, will take place
October 21 – November 11,
2011. However, for the first time, the festival will feature an offshore
component, ‘FLIFF On-Location’, here on Grand Bahama Island, October 27
– 30, 2011.

The idea to screen in Grand Bahama came about when Dave Mackey and Robbin Whachell had the opportunity to view
Wind Jammers and cover the
world premiere in December 2010 in Nassau at the Atlantis Theatre. "We
enjoyed the film so much, and after interviewing the cast and directors,
along with Sir Durwood Knowles who was a collaborator for the film, we
felt it would be wonderful to show it here in Grand Bahama," said editor
of The Bahamas Weekly, Robbin Whachell

• $135.00 - double
Hotel check-in time is after 3:00PM on the day of arrival.
Check-out time is before 11:00AM on the day of departure.

rates are subject to the prevailing 10% Government Guest Room Tax and
