Abaco police arrest 61 illegal immigrants

Law Enforcement Officers arrest (61) illegal Immigrants in the Snake Cay area, Abaco.

Reports are that on Saturday 21st March 2015 shortly after 2:00am, a team of Officers headed by Immigration Department, the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force arrested (61) illegal Immigrants, (11) adult females, (45) adult males, (3) juvenile females and (2) children.

Further inquiries were conducted and a 52 year old male of the Mudd, Abaco was arrested for assisting in illegal landing.

All persons were brought into Abaco where they were seen by the local doctor and medical staff of the Marsh Harbour Clinic.

Immigration Department is processing the illegal immigrants and steps are being taken to have them transported into the Detention Center, New Providence.Investigations are continuing.
