American visitor to arrested at Bimini airport for possession of a pistol and ammunition

BIMINI, The Bahamas - A 34 year old male American visitor is in police custody after he was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Reports are that on Monday 11th May 2015 shortly after 9:00am, Officers of the Bimini Division while at the South Bimini International Airport, conducted a search of the American visitor and discovered in a camouflage bag, a black and silver 9mm Beretta pistol with one clip containing (17) live 9mm hallow tip ammunition. He was arrested and taken into police custody.

Investigation is continuing in this matter.
