Bahamas: Drug bust at San Andros Airport - 2 American arrested in Chub Cay

DEU MAKE LARGE DRUG BUST IN ANDROS

According to reports, shortly after 12:00noon on Sunday 2nd August 2015, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit were on patrol on a dirt road in the area of the San Andros Airport, where they uncovered a number of crocus bags containing a large amount of marijuana and a quantity of cocaine. No arrests were made in this discovery, however DEU officers are following some significant leads.

2 AMERICAN MEN IN CUSTODY FOR FIREARM AND AMMO POSSESSION IN CHUB CAY

Police and Customs officials took two American men into custody for firearm and ammunition possession on Saturday 1st August 2015.

According to reports, around 5:30pm, Police assisted by Customs officials arrested the two adult American males in Chub Cay for possession of three (3) handguns and a large amount of ammunition. The two males along with the firearms will be flown into New Providence, for further investigations by officers from the Firearm Tracing and Investigation Unit.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) OR 1-242-300-8476 (FAMILY ISLANDS)
