DEU make huge drug bust
A week-long operation led by the Drug Enforcement Unit has resulted in a huge seizure of dangerous drugs on Wednesday 16th April 2014.

According to reports, around 5:30pm on Wednesday 16th April 2014 the week-long DEU intelligence led operation culminated in the Ragged Island Chain of Cays after officers uncovered eighty-eight (88) packages of marijuana with an estimated weight of 3,000 pounds and a street value 3 million dollars.

Officers from the Exuma Marine Services and DEU’s OPBAT partners assisted DEU in this operation. Investigations are ongoing by DEU.

Police in Eleuthera investigate a traffic fatality - Police in Eleuthera are investigating a traffic accident that has left an 18 – year old man dead on Thursday 17th April 2014. 

According to reports, shortly after 6:00pm, the deceased was traveling south on Queens Highway, Governors Harbour, on a red and white Honda ER 650 trail motorcycle, when he lost control and crash into the rear of a white 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV driven by a 42 – year old man traveling along the same route. The motorcyclist was rushed to the local clinic in critical condition where he was pronounced dead. 

Investigations are ongoing.
