Double traffic fatality in Acklins, Bahamas being investigated

ACKLINS, Bahamas - Police are investigating a traffic accident on the island of Acklins that has left two adult males dead on Monday 28th April 2014.

Preliminary investigation indicates, that shortly before 10:00am an adult male driver accompanied by an adult male passenger was driving south along Queens Highway, Hard Hill, Acklins in a 2006 Scion vehicle, when the vehicle lost control and careened into nearby bushes where it overturned.

The driver and passenger were ejected from the vehicle.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger was transported to the local clinic where he succumbed to his injuries.

Officers from the Police Traffic Department will travel to Acklins to assist with the investigations.
