Exuma police make drug arrest in George Town - Arrest 22 yr-old for firearm

EXUMA POLICE MAKE DRUG ARREST

Exuma, Bahamas - Two (2) men ages 50 and 23 years of Exuma are in custody after they was arrested on that island for possession of dangerous drugs on Tuesday 28th January 2014.

According to reports, around 8:20pm, police in Exuma acting on intelligence, while at the Government Dock situated in George Town, conducted a search of a box the suspect had in his possession and found a quantity of marijuana. The suspect was then taken into custody. Police later arrested the 23 – year old suspect in connection with this incident. The two suspects are expected to appear in court later this week to face drug related charges. The estimate weight of the drugs is five (5) pounds with a street value of $5,000 dollars.

EXUMA POLICE MAKE FIREARM ARREST

A 22  year old man of Exuma is in custody after he was arrested on that island for possession of an unlicensed firearm on Tuesday 28th January 2014.

According to reports, around 4:20am, police in Exuma acting on intelligence, while at the Government Dock situated in George Town, conducted a search of a carry on bag the suspect had in his possession and found an unlicensed shotgun. The suspect was then taken into custody and is expected to appear in court later this week to face firearm related charges.
