Firearm and ammunition arrest in Abaco

Abaco, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, police in Abaco arrest a 40 year old male after he was found in possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.

Reports are that on Thursday 4th August 2016 shortly after 3:00am, officers while on mobile patrol in the area of S.C Bootle Highway, stopped and searched a 2001 Honda Accord with two male passengers, officers discovered on one of the male a .357 revolver along with (16) .357 rounds of ammunition. The 40 year old male of Central Pines, Abaco was arrested and taken into custody.

He is expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court later this week.

Police are also urging anyone who may have any information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477)
