Harbour Island police investigate apparent drowning

ELEUTHERA, Bahamas - Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was found dead in waters off Harbour Island on Saturday 17th September 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 2:00pm, police received a report of a body of man found in waters off Harbour Island. When Police and Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived on the scene they met the body of an adult male submerged in the water. The body of the man was removed from the water and taken to shore where he was pronounced dead by the island’s doctor.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigations are ongoing.
