Long Island police find rifles and ammunition - 2 Harbour Island men in custody for stabbing

FIREARMS AND AMMO SEIZED IN LONG ISLAND

Long Island, Bahamas - According to reports, shortly after 5:30pm on Thursday 3rd July 2015, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit along with officers Long Island District acting on intelligence went to Roses, Long Island, where they conducted a search of a trailer and found a AK-47 Assault rifle along with a Browning .308 rifle. Additionally, the officers uncovered 974 live rounds of ammunition. No one was arrested in connection with this discovery.

TWO MEN IN CUSTODY FOR HARBOUR ISLAND STABBING

Two males ages 28 and 18 are custody in Harbour Island following a stabbing incident that has left two adult male visitors from Florida injured.

According to reports, around 4:00am this morning two victims were riding a gulf cart on Colebrooke Street, Harbour Island, when they got into an argument with two male residents that resulted in one of the victims being stabbed to the back and the other receiving a nose injury. The two victims were taken to the local clinic where their injuries are listed as not serious.

The two suspects were arrested shortly thereafter and are expected to appear in court early next week to be formally charged.
