Marijuana, Cash and Firearm Seized at Abaco Airport

ABACO, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers from New Providence along with U.S Counterparts and Officers of the Abaco Division, arrested three adult males following the seizure of a large amount of dangerous drugs, cash and firearm on Friday 24th February 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 4:00pm, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers from New Providence along with U.S Counterparts and Officers from the Abaco District, went to the Sir Leonard Thompson International Airport, Marsh Harbour, Abaco, where they searched a twin engine aircraft with three male passengers on board and discovered in the aircraft a large amount of suspected marijuana, cash and (2) .380 pistols. Three adult males were taken into police custody after this discovery and flown into New Providence.

Police are actively investigating this matter.
