RBPF Bimini: Possession of firearm and ammunition arrest

Bimini, Bahamas - Police in Bimini have in their custody three (3) males who were arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Reports are that on Sunday 17th September 2017 shortly after 12:00am, police were on mobile patrol on North Bimini when gunshots were heard, officers then observed three males in the area of a business establishment who on seeing the officers pulled out a firearm, discharged the firearm and ran. Offices gave chase where they arrested all three suspects in the area of a marina. Officers also uncovered a .45 pistol with a magazine containing (2) live rounds of .45 ammunition.

All three males are expected to be formally arraigned before the Magistrate Court early next week.

Police are appealing to the public to share information on any illegal/suspicious activities in their communities, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, members of the public are urged to anonymously contact the police at 919 or Crime Stoppers at 328-tips (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Island)
