Drug bust northwest of Bimini: 2 Biminites arrested

Two Bahamian males arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs.

Reports are that on Sunday 7th September 2014,shortly after 7:00pm, a red and black 19ft speed boat with two males were seen on waters some 10 miles northwest of Bimini by U.S Coast Guard that were eventually boarded and two males ages 24 years and 36 years both Bimini residents were on board. A search of the vessel uncovered (3) three large taped packages of suspected marijuana and a large amount of cash. Both suspects and vessel were taken into Freeport, Grand Bahama and handed over to the Drug Enforcement Unit.

Estimated weight of suspected marijuana is 16.5 pounds
Estimated street value is $16,500.00(sixteen thousand five hundred dollars) Bahamian and U.S currency found $15,000.00(fifteen thousand dollars)

Investigations are continuing in this matter.
