RBPF: Joint Operation by Police and Defense Force Officers in Bimini

Joint Operation by Bimini Police and Defense Force officers
resulted in the capture of (12) illegal Immigrants on the island

of South Bimini

Bimini, Bahamas - Reports are that on Sunday 16th December 2018, shortly after 11:00am, officers of the Bimini Division along with officers of the Royal Bahamas Defense Force, acting on intelligence and in a joint operation, went to a local resort on South Bimini where they boarded a 36ft. vessel that was moored at that resort and discovered (12) illegal immigrants (3) females and (9) males on board. A further search of the vessel was conducted and the officers discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. The captain of that vessel, a resident of New Providence was arrested and taken into police custody. The illegal immigrants whose nationalities are (1) Dominican, (1) Venezuelan, (3) Ecuadorian and (7) Chinese, were all handed over to Immigration authorities.

Investigation will continue in this matter.
