Police Make Drug Seizures in Eleuthera

Eleuthera, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Police Plan for 2017, Police inEleuthera seized a quantity of dangerous drugs on Thursday 30th March 2017.

Shortly after 12:30pm, police assigned to the Eleuthera District were on mobile patrol on Russell Island, when they saw a man standing on the side of the road with a bag on his shoulder acting suspiciously. The man on seeing the officers dropped the bag to the ground and fled on foot. The officers gave chase but were unable to catch the man. The bag was searched and two pounds of marijuana was found.

Then shortly before 6:00pm, police in Harbour Island, conducted a search of a premises on Barrack Street, where they found a plastic bag containing 26 small foil wraps with marijuana. An adult male was taken into custody in connection with this find.
