RBPF: Police are investigating a plane crash at Pitts Town Airport, Crooked Island

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are investigating a plane crash which occurred Tuesday, 1st October, 2019 at Pitts Town Airport, Crooked Island.

Reports are that shortly after 3:00pm, a PA32 Cherokee 6 aircraft, registration # N38677, left Deadman’s Cay, Long Island enroute to Pitts Town Airport, with four (4) passengers on board. As the aircraft began its final approach to the runway, it encountered a cross winds, which caused it to crash onto the runway. There were major damages to the aircraft, however; no one was injured during this incident.

This matter will be referred to the Department Civil Aviation for further investigation.
Police on New Providence are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the men responsible for three armed robberies which recently occurred.
In the first incident, according to reports, shortly after 11:00pm, Monday, 30th September, 2019 a woman was near Freedom Farm, Joe Farrington Road, when she was approached by an armed man, who forced her to withdraw cash from two ATM Machines, before robbing her of the cash and her vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered.

In the second incident, shortly after 1:00pm, Tuesday, 1st October, 2019 a woman was in the parking lot of a business establishment on Carmichael Road, when she was approached by an armed male, who entered her vehicle and forced her to drive to a dirt road off Cowpen Road, where she was robbed of a handbag containing cash and other items, before getting into a gray Nissan vehicle and speeding away.

In the third incident, shortly after 9:00pm a woman was at church on Cordeaux Avenue, when she was approached by an armed man, who robbed her of her handbag which contained cash and personnel documents, before running away.
No one was injured during these incident. Investigations are ongoing.
