Drugs and firearms seized on mailboat from Bimini

Bimini, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, a team of officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit took into custody five adult males and an adult female following the discovery of a quantity of dangerous drugs and a firearm on a mailboat on Friday 3rd June 2016.

Reports are that shortly before 9:00am, a team of officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit acting on intelligence, went onboard mailboat from Bimini moored at Potters Cay Dock, where they conducted a search an uncovered 8 pounds of marijuana in a storage bin and a glock pistol with 9 rounds of ammunition in a suitcase. The five adult males and the adult female were subsequently arrested in connection with this discovery.
