Illegal firearm seized, 1 man in custody:
Police have removed yet another firearm off the streets of New Providence on Monday, 11th December, 2017.  Shortly after 8:00pm officers from the Mobile Division, were on routine patrol on Palm Beach Street, when they heard gun shots coming from the area of Tucker Close. The officers went to the area when they observed a group of men standing in the street.

Illegal drugs seized: Reports are that shortly after 2:00pm on Tuesday, 12th December, 2017 a team of officers assigned to the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on information conducted a search of a bushy area on Hard Rock Alley off Market Street, where they uncovered just over 36 pounds of marijuana...

According to reports, shortly before 1:00pm three (3) men were working at a construction site on Shirley Street when they were approached by two men, one armed with a firearm, who demanded cash and shot two of the workers...

Police are asking the public to come forth with any information they may have in solving a number of Armed Robberies which occurred on Saturday, 9th December, 2017.

In the first incident, shortly after 9:00am, two men armed with firearms walked into a local gaming shop on Carmichael Road and Lazaretto Road and robbed the cashier of an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing on foot...

According to reports shortly after 9:30pm, Police received a report that a male was sitting in a vehicle on Farrington Road off Boyd Road, when a Japanese vehicle pulled up. A male came from this vehicle armed with a firearm and shot the victim before speeding off. The male was pronounced dead on the scene...

Reports are that on Thursday 7th December 2017 shortly before 5:00pm, a 27 year old male while taking preparatory steps to travel to the U.S.A presented himself at security checkpoint at the Freeport Harbor, where he was found in possession of 2.5 lbs. of suspected cocaine with a street value of $25,000.00...

According to reports around 1:00pm on Wednesday 6th December, 2017 Drug Enforcement Unit Officers along with US Drug Enforcement Agents were on routine patrol in the North Andros area when they discovered a Marijuana field in the area of Owens’ Town. An estimated eight thousand (8,000) marijuana plants were uprooted.  

Then, shortly after 12:00 noon on Thursday 7th December, 2017 Drug Enforcement Officer and US Drug Enforcement Agents assisted by Officers from North Andros District, returned to a nearby area in Owens Town, Andros where they uncovered a second marijuana field. An estimated two thousand three hundred (2,300) marijuana plants were uprooted...
