12 accused persons arraigned in courts for possession of dangerous drugs in Freeport

Grand Bahama - In regards to the persons arrested in the Redwood Lane area during “Operation Dry Wood” conducted by a team of detectives from the Drug Enforcement Unit. The following persons appeared in the courts respectively:

Magistrate’s Court No.2 before Magistrate Andrew Forbes:

Bradley Rolle DOB 14th November, 1985; Britney Deandra Rolle DOB 7th January, 1992; Darnell Elizabeth Ferguson DOB 18th October, 1980; Corey Ricardo Nixon DOB 17th May, 1971; and Stafford Smith Jr. DOB 26th June, 1992 all of Freeport were formally charged for Possession of Dangerous Drugs.

Bradley Rolle, Britney Rolle and Darnell Ferguson pleaded not guilty‟ and they were each granted bail in the amount of $1,000 with surety and their matters were adjourned to 11th December, 2012 for trial.

Smith pleaded guilty and was given a conditional discharge to be of good behavior for one year.

Nixon who also pleaded guilty was given a conditional discharge for three (3) years to be of good behavior and in default he would serve two (2) years at Her Majesty‟s Prison in New Providence.

Magistrate’s Court No.3 before Deputy Chief Magistrate Helen Jones

Renaldo Cartwright DOB 24th February, 1985; Alexander Reshad Prosper DOB 9th February, 1992; Alfred Sweeting Jr. DOB 30th December, 1974; Chadrick Anathanias Hepburn DOB 25th August, 1971; Kirklyn Sharell Neymour DOB 1st October, 1992; James Martin Thompson DOB 23rd December, 1990 and Curry Aqenor DOB 14th January, 1984 of Freeport were all arraigned on the charge of Possession of Dangerous Drugs.

Cartwright, Thompson, Prosper and Aqenor pleaded guilty to the charge and was each given one (1) year probation to complete 200 hours of community service and drug counseling. They were granted bail in the amount of $1,000 with surety and the matters were adjourned to 27th February, 2013 for review.

Sweeting pleaded guilty to the charge and was convicted and fined $200 or three (3) months at Her Majesty‟s Prison in New Providence.

Neymour pleaded guilty to the charge and was given an absolute discharge by the Magistrate.

Hepburn pleaded guilty and given a conditional discharge for two (2) years and to complete drug counseling and in default, to serve one (1) year at her Majesty‟s Prison.
