Nassau police officer dead, manhunt launched for suspects in 3 shootings

Nassau, Bahamas - Police has launched a major manhunt for the suspects involved three separate shooting incidents, that has left an off duty police officer dead and two men detained in hospital on Thursday 4th December 2014.In the first incident, shortly before 4:00pm, a man was walking through a track road that leads from Peter Street to Quakoo Street, when a man in a grey vehicle armed with a handgun shot him twice to the forearm and sped off. The victim was transported to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.

In the second incident, shortly before 5:00pm, a man was walking on Charles Vincent Street and Robinson Road, when three men in a champagne coloured Honda Accord armed with handguns shot him multiple times to the body and sped off. The victim was transported to hospital where he is detained in critical condition.

In the third incident, around 7:00pm, police received a report of a shooting incident on Durham Street off Montrose Avenue. When police arrived at the scene they met the lifeless body of an off duty police officer in the driver seat of a dark coloured jeep. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police can confirm that a female friend accompanied the victim in the vehicle. Police have no motive for this incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
