AMERICAN FEMALE VISITORS ARRESTED FOR DANGEROUS DRUGS

Nassau, Bahamas - Two adult American females from North Carolina are in custody after they was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs on Wednesday 22nd June 2016.

According to reports, shortly after 10:00am, officers from the Tourism Policing Unit acting on intelligence went to a cruise ship moored at Prince George Wharf, where they found the suspects in possession of a quantity of marijuana. The female suspects were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court sometime today to be formally charged.

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, officers from the Mobile Division conducted an operation in the area of Independence Drive and East Street on Wednesday 22nd 2016, that targeted persons wanted for a number of criminal offences.

During the operation three (3) adult males were arrested for two pounds of marijuana found in a vehicle and 48 drivers were cited for various traffic violations.

SHOTGUN RECOVERED - POLICE SEARCHING FOR TWO HOUSEBREAKING SUSPECTS

Police are searching for two male suspects responsible for a housebreaking that occurred on Thursday 23rd June 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 5:00am, officers from the Southwestern Division received a report of a housebreaking in progress at a home located in Dignity Gardens. When officers arrived on the scene they saw two male suspects fleeing from the house. The officers gave chase but were unable to catch the two men. The officers recovered a sawed off shotgun and a red vehicle occupied by the suspects.

Investigations are ongoing.
