2 females arrested for gun possession - Nassau police search for suspects in 3 armed robberies

ANOTHER FIREARM SEIZED, TWO FEMALES IN CUSTODY

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, officers from the Mobile Division took two adult females into custody following the seizure of a handgun on Saturday 25th July 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 9:00am, officers from the Mobile Division acting on intelligence conducted a search of a home located at Palm Tree Avenue, where they uncovered a .40 pistol with 6 rounds of ammunition. The two females were subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN THREE SEPARATE ARMED ROBBERIES

In the first incident shortly after 10:00pm on Saturday 25th June 2016, a woman was closing a restaurant located on Farrington Road, when a man armed with a handgun approached and robbed her of cash and a cell phone before fleeing on foot.

Then around 10:30am on Saturday 25th June 2016, a man and a woman were sitting in a vehicle in front of their home located at Coral Drive, when three males armed with handguns approached and robbed them of some personal items before fleeing on foot.

In the final incident, shortly before 12:00midnight on Saturday 25th June 2016, two males armed with handguns robbed a man of his white Honda Accord car license number 234737 in front of a restaurant located on East Bay Street before speeding off.

Investigations are ongoing in all of these incidents.
