56 arrested / 106 citations in RBPF Holiday Weekend Operations

56 ARRESTED AND 105 DRIVERS CITED DURING POLICE ISLAND-WIDE HOLIDAY WEEKEND OPERATION

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are reporting the seizure of one firearm, the arrest of 56 persons for a number of offences including, armed robbery, possession of dangerous drugs and firearms during a very intense operation throughout New Providence over the holiday weekend.Additionally, 105 drivers were cited for various traffic violations.The operation which is consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, is part of the force’s strategy to cut down on criminal activity by targeting problem locations and persons engaged in criminal activities such as, murder, armed robbery, rape, shootings, stolen vehicle, firearms and drugs.

9 SUSPECTS ARRESTED DURING MONDAY MORNING OPERATION

POLICE are reporting the arrest of 9 persons for various criminal offences to include, possession of dangerous drugs, house breaking, causing harm and outstanding court warrants during an operation conducted throughout New Providence yesterday morning.

The operation which is consistent with the Commissioner’s 2015 Policing Priorities, targeted persons involved in criminal activities, such as drugs and firearms, persons wanted for various criminal offences, prolific offenders, persons wanted for outstanding court warrants and motorists operating in Breach of the Traffic Laws.

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Southwestern Division officers conducted an operation in the division yesterday, that targeted persons wanted for various criminal offences.The operation resulted in the arrest of 12 persons for stealing, threats of harm, and causing damage.

7 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of seven (5) persons during the past 24 hours for various offences. Additionally 20 drivers were cited for various traffic violations.Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Southwestern Division officers conducted an operation in the division yesterday, that targeted persons wanted for various criminal offences.  The operation resulted in the arrest of 12 persons for stealing, threats of harm, and causing damage.

7 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD
