Nassau police report 13 arrests - 60 drivers cited during 'Operation no Tolerance'

5 ARRESTED AND 60 DRIVERS CITED DURING ‘OPERATION NO TOLERANCE’

Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE are reporting that 5 persons were arrested for various criminal offences and 60 drivers were cited for a number of traffic infractions during ‘Operation No Tolerance’ conducted throughout New Providence yesterday evening.

The operation which is consistent with the Commissioner’s 2015 Policing Priorities, targeted persons involved in criminal activities, such as drugs and firearms, persons wanted for various criminal offences, prolific offenders, persons wanted for outstanding court warrants and motorists operating in Breach of the Traffic Laws.

8 ARRESTED OVER 24-HOURS PERIOD BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of eight (8) persons over that last 24 hours for various minor and major offences.
