8 Suspects to be arraigned in court on serious charges, Handgun seized

8 Suspects to be arraigned in court on a number of serious charges
The suspects are:

• A 23 – year old male of Willow Tree Street and a 19 – year old male of Moonshine Drive for
Attempted Armed Robbery and Attempted Abduction
• A 27 – year old male of Cargill Creek, Andros for Rape & Human Trafficking
• A 30 – year old male of Brougham Street for Assault With a Deadly Weapon
• A 26 – year old male of Seven Hills for Stealing and Receiving
• A 31 – year old male of Avocado Street and a 30 – year old male of Avocado Street for Possession of a Firearm & Ammunition
• A 29 – year old male of Peter Street for Assault With a Deadly Weapon

Handgun seized - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, a handgun was seized on Sunday 12th February 2017, by officers from the Mobile Division.

Reports are that shortly after 7:00pm, Division officers were on routine patrol on Thompson Lane off East Street, where they saw a group of males standing in front of a home. Two of the males on seeing the officers fled on foot. The officers gave chase and saw when one of the males threw a handgun to the ground. The officers were unable to catch the two males. The handgun was discovered to be a .380 pistol.
Investigations are ongoing.
