Firearm, ammunition and drugs seized in day 4 of operation showtime
II
- Police are reporting the seizure of a firearm, a quantity of ammunition and a quantity of dangerous drugs during day four of “Operation Showtime II ” held in New Providence late Saturday 18th October 2014 through the early morning of Sunday 19th October 2014.

The operation is aimed at disrupting crime groups and targeting persons involved in criminal activities, such and Drugs and Firearms, Persons wanted for various criminal offences, Prolific Offenders, Persons wanted for Outstanding Court Warrants and motorists operating in Breach of the Traffic Laws.

  • Shortly before 10:00pm a 25 – year old man of Taylor Street was arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs

  • Shortly after 11:37pm a 22 – year old man of Kemp Road was arrested for possession of a handgun

  • Shortly before 3:00am this morning a 32 – year old man of Sunset Park was arrested for possession of a quantity of ammunition

  • Additionally, 7 other persons were arrested for various crimes to include, armed robbery, firearms, drugs and out standing court warrants.

American man arrested for drug possession - A 33 – year old man from Jacksonville, Florida is in custody after he was arrested for possession of a quantity of dangerous drugs on Saturday 18th October 2014.

 

According to reports, around 4:30pm, Tourism Policing Unit Officers acting on intelligence went to a cruise ship moored at Prince George Wharf, where they arrested the suspect for quantity of marijuana. The suspect is expected to appear in court sometime tomorrow to be formally charged.

Police seek public help solving two armed robberies - POLICE are seeking the public’s help in solving two armed robberies that occurred on Saturday 18th October 2014.

In the first incident, shortly before 2:00pm, two men armed with a shotgun robbed a woman at a clothing store located on Cordeaux Avenue of her handbag containing a small amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

In the second incident, shortly after 3:00pm, two men armed with a handgun robbed a business establishment located on Bernard Road of an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

Investigations are ongoing.

Police seek public help solving shooting incident - POLICE are seeking the public’s help in solving a two shooting incidents that has left a man detained in hospital on Sunday 19th October 2014

According to reports, shortly after 1:30am, a man was standing with several other men in front of a bar located on Malcolm Road East, when two men armed with handguns approached them and demanded cash. The victim along with the group of men ran off and was shot the in the leg by one of the suspects. The victim was transported to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

Police are also appealing to anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of wanted persons or any information about crimes and other illegal activities in their communities, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands) or the nearest Police Station
