Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers took a 25 – year old Corrections Officer from the Bahamas Department of Corrections into custody following the seizure of a quantity of dangerous drugs found in his possession on Monday 3rd July 2017.
According to reports, around 10:00pm, acting on information, Drug Enforcement Unit officers conducted a search of a Corrections Officer, who had just arrived for duty at the Department of Corrections, and found a quantity of marijuana in his possession. The officer was then taken into custody.
Drug Enforcement then conducted a search of the Corrections Officer’s home in Pastel Gardens, where they found an additional quantity of marijuana.
Investigations are ongoing.
