POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING ARMED ROBBERY
Police are asking
members of the public, to come forth with any information they may have
in solving an armed robbery, which occurred Sunday, 13th May, 2018.
According
to reports, shortly after 9:00am, a male armed with a firearm, entered a
convenience store on Cambridge and Hospital Lane, held an employee at
bay and robbed the establishment of an undetermined amount of cash,
before fleeing on foot.
Investigations are ongoing.
POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT – 1 SUSPECT IN CUSTODY
Police
have taken an adult male into custody in connection with a shooting
incident, Sunday, 13th May, 2018, which has left an adult male with
non-life threatening injuries.
According to
reports, shortly after 10:00pm, a male armed with a firearm, entered a
bar on Cordeaux Avenue and Miami Street, and fired the weapon in the
direction of customers, injuring one male before running away. The
victim was transported to hospital where he was treated and later
discharged.
Investigations are ongoing.
SUSPECTS TO BE ARRAIGNED IN COURT
Police are pleased to report that five suspects will appear in the Magistrate Court on Monday, 14th May, 2018, at 2:00pm to be formally charged.
They are:
20 year old male to be charged with murder, in connection with the stabling death of a 16 year old male, while at Butler Street, Nassau Village on Friday 11th May, 2018.
1 adult female will be charged with accessory after the fact, in connection with the stabling death of a 16 year old male, while at Butler Street, Nassau Village on Friday 11th May, 2018.
1 adult male to be charged with Murder, in connection a homicide which occurred in December, 2016.
1 adult male to be charged with stealing in connection with a matter reported 2017.
1 adult male to be charged with possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition
Police wishes to thank members of the public for assisting with information, which has led to the arrest of suspects in these matters.

23 DRIVERS TICKETED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS IN PAST 48 HOUR
Officers from the Mobile Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of 13 person for outstanding criminal warrants, possession of dangerous drugs and breach of a monitoring device, over the past 24 hours.
Additionally, 23 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations

CRIME PREVENTION TIPS – CONFLICT RESOLUTION
- Look for ways to settle arguments and disagreements without violence. Remember: if you resort to violence to settle disputes, a child may well follow your example. Be a good role model.
- Use good manners to help ease tensions that can lead to violence. Teach kids that showing respect for themselves and for the needs of others can prevent crime.
