Bahamas police probe alleged drowning of American visitor on diving trip

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an American visitor from New York whilst on a diving trip on Saturday 19th March 2016.

According to reports, shortly after 10:00am, an American man was on a diving trip with a group of persons in waters off Stuart’s Cove in western New Providence, when he man became unconscious. Despite extensive CPR efforts the man was declared deceased by a medical doctor. An autopsy will be preformed to determine the exact cause of death.

The identity of the man is being withheld pending notification of family members.

Investigations are ongoing.
