Caucasian male found floating off Abaco, Bahamas identified

UPDATE (August 5) The body that was discovered near Scotland Cay, Abaco on Wednesday 29th July 2015, has been identified as Mason Hart age 23 years of Houston Texas, U.S.A. Investigation into this matter is continuing.

July 30: Police in Abaco are investigating the death of a male whose body was found floating in waters on Scotland Cay, Abaco.

Reports are that on Wednesday 29th July 2015 shortly before 5:00pm, the body of an unknown caucasian male was found floating in waters on Scotland Cay, Abaco by a resident of the cay.

Officers responded to investigate and the body was taken to the Marsh Harbor Clinic where it was pronounced dead by doctor. At present the identity of the decease is not known, nor the circumstances surrounding his death.

Police in Abaco are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding a missing relative or any information to the identity of the decease, to contact the Marsh Harbor Police Station in Abaco at telephone number 367-2560 or 367-3437, or call the Central Detective Unit in Grand Bahama at telephone numbers 350-3107 thru 12, or the Emergency numbers at 911/919 or call your nearest police station.

Police are actively investigating this matter.
