DEU nab 3 in large drug bust

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2016, a major operation conducted by officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit has resulted in the arrest of two females and a male following a large drug seizure on Thursday 30th June 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 2:30pm, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit was on an operation in the Carmichael Road Area, when they conducted a search of a silver Nissan vehicle driven by an adult female. During the search the officers uncovered two suitcases each containing a large amount of marijuana. The female was subsequently taken into custody.

The officers then took the female suspect to her home located at Golden Isles Road where they conducted a search and found a shopping bag containing a quantity of marijuana. An adult female and male were arrested at the home. The estimated weight of the drugs is 92 pounds.
