Disciplinary action commenced against 2 Police officers in social media video

Police wishes to notify members of the public that disciplinary action has commenced against two police officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force shown in a controversial video that recently went viral on social media.

At 11:00am this morning (Sunday 23rd July 2017), Commissioner Ellison Greenslade suspended both officers from duty and restricted their privileges.

Both officers were given fourteen (14) days show cause letters. This allows due process and natural justice.

Commissioner Greenslade will make a final decision on both officers once he receives their written responses in his hand.

Police are appealing to the public to share information on any Illegal/suspicious activities in their communities, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, members of the public are urged to anonymously contact the police at 919 or crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
