Drive-by shooting in Nassau, 1 dead

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are investigating a shooting incident that has left a man dead and another detained in hospital on Saturday 13th December 2014.

According to reports, around 1:30pm, two men were riding in a Honda vehicle on Soldier Road near Robinson Road, when two masked men armed with handguns in a gold coloured vehicle shot them multiple times before speeding off. The men were rushed to hospital in a private vehicle, where one of them was pronounced dead and the other remains in critical condition.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending a notification of the next of kin. However, police can confirm that the man who died was being electronically monitored and was recently released on bail for a serious indictable offence.

Investigations are ongoing.
