Full military funeral for former director of the Royal Bahama Police Force band

Nassau, Bahamas - Full Military Funeral Service was held at 11am on 30th October 2015 for the late Nigel Clarke, Superintendent of Police (Retired), and former Director of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Wulff and Baillou Hill Roads.

Immediately following the Funeral Service a procession will leave St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Wulff and Baillou Hill Roads, travel west on Poinciana Avenue to Thompson Boulevard, south along Thompson Boulevard culminating at Internal Security Division.

The late Superintendent Nigel Clarke began his career as a Police Officer on the 13th January 1971 and spent most of his tenure in the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band.

Superintendent Nigel Clarke was appointed Director of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band in 2008,where serve until his retirement on 4th January 2010.

As a highly skilled musician Superintendent Clarke loved all genres of music, but his first love was jazz. He was also instrumental in the formation of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Pop Band.

Fellow band members described Superintendent Clarke as a perfectionist who insisted that the sound of band must be perfect. He was a trainer and used his knowledge and skills to train members of the police band and the community at large. He also was the Music Arranger for the RBPF Band.

Superintendent Clarke was also very active civilly and was involved in several community orchestras and bands, including but not limited to:

• Conductor of the Young Soul Orchestra

• Lead Alto Saxophonist in the Bahamas Musicians Union Dance Band

Superintendent Clarke, will be missed by his wife, family, friends, Police Commissioner Greenslade and the entire Royal Bahamas Police Force Family.
